Home page
The home page offers three types of features, from large to medium and small. Each feature includes an image, a caption and potentially a link to an inside page.
Section index
The section index is similar to the home page, but with extra section navigation. It offers two types of features, large and small.
Standard page
Standard pages have text (with multiple styles) and embedded images as the main body, plus image galleries, links and documents on the side.
News
News feature paginated list of articles, sorted in reverse chronological order (newest at the top). Each news article functions like a standard page.
Contact Us
The Contact Us template will allow visitors to send messages to an email of your choice (that you specify in the preferences for your website).
Browse the collection
In the collection section, this template will let your visitors browse the entire collection, 20 objects at a time. Objects can be viewed as a series of images or images plus some text details (artist, title, date and accession number). Visitors may also filter results by type of object.
Single object page
When selecting an object, a large image will be displayed (if available), together with other images of the same object (if available). Description and details as well as links to contextual content (exhibitions and themes).
Search the collection
Simple search for collection objects, with one field searching across the whole set of object and artist/people information.
Artist A-Z
Another way to access the collection is by the artists listed in alphabetical order, split by initial. Selecting an initial will display a list of artists; the selecting an artist will show their biography (if available) and a list of works.
Themes
Themes are narrative trails, where objects are linked together with a motif and may have contextual information. It’s a way of telling a story, using collection objects. May be used for educational reasons as well as for highlights and guided tours.
What’s On at a glance
While typically section index pages are manually updated, the section index of What’s On is automatically updated to display upcoming events and exhibitions.
Exhibitions
Exhibitions may be distinguished as major and minor ones, which are differentiated by how large their representing image is.
Events
Events can be selected from a calendar and filtered by type. By default, the events page will display events in the next seven or thirty days.
