How do I use my own domain with Museums Sites?

As part of the Museums Sites sign-up process you will have been asked to tell us which domain nameyou want to use for your Museums Sites website. If you forgot to do that or didn't have it at the the time, in the next few weeks we'll add functionalities to let you enter it through the Qi interface.

In the meantime, if you would like to use your own domain name or would like to change it, please get in touch with us.

There is a bit of technical action that is required for you to use your domain name with Museums Sites: you need to use your registrar's control panel to create a CNAME pointing to app.museumssites.com.

Please note that it can take 24 hours for your CNAME changes to take effect so please wait a while and try again if it does not work immediately.

Please also note that once you have created your CNAME, your site will be live within 24 hours: do make sure it looks the way you want it before doing that!

Please note that fully qualified domains are not available in the free edition of Museums Sites.
