What is a navigation structure?

Your navigation structure (also called site map or information architecture) is one of the most important aspects of your site - it defines how users get around to view your content. If a navigation structure is too complicated or it doesn’t get the user where they need to be quickly, your visitors may simply give up on you.

Your navigation structure

Museums Sites offers you an initial information architecture/site map, which is based on Keepthinking's many years of research and work with museums. We believe such map will cover most of the communication needs of any typical small to medium museum, but in any case you edit, refine, modify and expand it to fit your specific needs and requirements.

Feel free to change it as you see fit: you may add and remove pages or simply put them offline until you have content for them.
